Travelling to Las Vegas

Despite being located in one traditionally one of the least hospitable places on earth, Las Vegas is now quite easily reached by various means. Situated in the very southern tip of the state of Nevada, you can arrive by any of the following means...

By Air

McCarran International Airport is now well within city limits due to the speed of growth of the city. Located at the south end of the The Strip, just past the Tropicana Hotel and Mandalay Bay.

Although links are good within North America, flights are somewhat limited to places further afield, such as Europe and Asia, meaning transfers in other cities are necessary.

Southwest Airlines and America West Airlines are local low-cost carriers that link Las Vegas with most of the USA.

Virgin Atlantic flies a few services every week to London-Gatwick

bmi fly from Manchester, UK during the summer months.

Lufthansa connects Germany seasonally.

Japan Airlines flies daily to Tokyo.

By Rail

Las Vegas is connected on AMTRAK's route from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City. The station is located in downtown Las Vegas, by Gaughan's Plaza Hotel and Casino.

By Road

The US interstate network connects Las Vegason on I-15 and Highway 95. Routes head west to Los Angeles, east to Salt Lake City, and south to Arizona.

By Bus

The impressive Greyhound network serves Las Vegas from Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Phoenix and others.

Las Vegas Local Transport

Shuttle buses are provided by most hotels to ferry people from the airport to their buildings. There are also frequent shuttles that stop off at every hotel/casino. Some of the groups of hotels run monorail systems between themselves.

Local buses do run around the city, particularly up and down the Strip, regularly also.
