Although every hotel has something to offer related to its theme, there really is not too many other sights to be seen within Las Vegas city limits. Some are worthy a little farther afield...

  • MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park

Disney-style theme park located in back of the MGM Grand hotel.

  • Stratosphere Tower

Atop the 1,000ft tower is the world highester rollercoaster and the Big Shot ride, shooting you high abover the tower and the vast desert below.

  • Freemont Street Experience

Freemont St. was once the heart of Las Vegas, with casinos such as the Golden Nugget lining it. Today these establishements still exist, but the street has been paved over and had a roof built overhead which displays fantastic light and sound shows at regular intervals.

  • Red Rock Canyon

A little out of town to the west is Red Rock Canyon, formed in the last ice ageand a world away from the glitter and grandieur of the city. A scenic loop road takes you past some of the interesting rock features, and trails take you deep into the hills, making you feel like John Wayne in a Western!

  • Hoover Dam and Lake Mead

30 miles to the south-east of Las Vegas, on the border with Arizona, is the impressive Hoover Dam, built to harness the might Colorado River. It is one of the Engineering Wonders of the World, soem 600ft wide at its base and a little more in height. Tours are available inside the structure.

Behind the dam is the subsequently created Lake Mead, a reservoir that streches 115 miles and offers a range of recreational activities, such as yachting and steam boat rides.

  • Grand Canyon

The world's largest and most famous canyon, located in Arizona, has long been associated with visitors to Las Vegas. Day trips by bus (5hrs each way) can be booked in any hotel, as can scenic flights over the canyon from McCarren International Airport.
