Wolverhampton Sights

In the city itself, there are a few interesting places to go to.

  • Art Museum

Located next to the church, it is a spectacle of a building itself, attracting many high profile artists and interesting exhibits. The aforementioned church and its colourful fountain garden makes for a very prominent feature, the garden and fountain being a very popular picnic area and sun trap during the summer.

  • Lighthouse Arts Cinema

Also showcases various forms of artwork, as well as showing movies to cater for all tastes, for kids, foreign films and art movies for the discerning movie buff. They also have many specialist workshops running that anyone can participate in, including animation and movie making.

The surrounding areas have plenty to offer.

  • Bridgenorth

A small, riverside town about 30 minutes drive from Wolverhampton town centre. It has a higher, hilltop town, which is just as quiet as the lower rural town; it is a very picturesque area with some striking church ruins overlooking a steam railway.

  • Dudley

A smaller town than Wolverhampton, but with two main attractions, one of which being the Black Country Museum. The other is Dudley Zoo and Castle, which has an amazing variety of wildlife from all over the world.
