Prague![]() Czech Republic
Introduction to Prague Its past is the stuff European historical legends are made of and its character attacking you from every building. Cheap beer, the Charles Bridge and classical music. With all of these attributes, it is not hard to see why Prague is one of the most visited cities in Europe.
Luckily having avoided any major war conflicts on its own streets, it is also one of the largest concentrations of medieval buildings still standing. It is easy to lose yourself in the narrow twisting streets, with ancient taverns and churches either side. You will feel transported to the heart of historical Europe and the legends you've only read in books and seen on TV. The city is built around the Vltava River and history is to be experienced everywhere, from the tourist-laden 14th-Century Charles Bridge, to Prague Castle and the St. Vitus' Cathedral which took 600 years to complete. Wander along Wencelsas Square, visit Franz Kafka's cottage and sample some Absinthe, all before a classical concert and a night in the city's bars and clubs. Prague is not to be beaten, but visit away from the tourist season of mid-Summer to ensure claustrophobia doesn't set in!
